Oh help! Oh no! It’s a Gruffalo! at Jersey Zoo

He has knobbly knees, and turned-out toes... The Gruffalo has found his way to Jersey Zoo for October half-term. From 27-30 October, the Gruffalo will be temporarily residing at Durrell’s Discovery Centre for an immersive meet and greet with members and visitors at the zoo.

Made famous by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, ‘The Gruffalo’ follows the story of a mouse taking a walk in the woods and deceiving different predators, including a large creature with orange eyes, black tongue and prickles all over his back – the Gruffalo!

Speaking about the visit, Zoe Le Var, Durrell’s Events Manager, commented:

“We are very excited to welcome the Gruffalo at Jersey Zoo. We know he is a popular character and want to provide a fun new activity for our younger supporters to do whilst they take a break from school over half-term.”

The Durrell Discovery Centre will be transformed into the deep dark woods, with other family-friendly activities available.

Families wanting to meet the Gruffalo need to book their time slots here. Free timeslots are available across the four days from 10:00am and must be booked in advance. Gruffalo tickets do not include zoo admission for non-members.
