Experience our magnificent fruit bats up close as you enter our award-winning Island Bat Roost. This experience will last for 45 minutes.

During your encounter you will: 

• Enter the bat enclosure to get closer to our fruit bats.  
• Help the keeper to feed the bats.  
• Hear personal insights into the bats’ lives from our experienced and passionate keepers.  
• Have exclusive photo opportunities.  
• Find out about Durrell’s mission to save species from extinction.

Please note:  

• This experience takes place at Jersey Zoo, Channel Islands. 
• Members are eligible for a 10% discount on Animal Experience purchases. To claim your discount please purchase your experience by phone by calling the Experiences team on 01534 860052. 
• Each £60 payment is for one person and includes admission to the zoo. 
• This encounter lasts for 45 minutes. 
• This encounter has a maximum capacity of 4 people per session.
• Your experience may be shared with other guests 
• This encounter is suitable for children aged 10 and over. 
• All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who also has a paid experience ticket.  
• Please book 4 to 6 weeks in advance. 
• Your visit may be altered at short notice should animal welfare concerns be raised.  
• Animal handling is not permitted, proximity to animals is at the keeper’s discretion on the day. 
• Cancellation with fewer than 7 days' notice will incur a 100% cancellation fee.  
• We may use the details you enter during the purchasing process to contact you about the experience afterwards.  
• This ‘Fruit bat Encounter’ package is valid for 12 calendar months from the date of purchase.
